How it works
Type a number or amount such as 1 234,50 or 2.500.000. The tool shows how it read it and the words. It uses the European long scale: mil milhões (10^9), bilião (10^12), trilião (10^18); that is not the English short scale where “billion” is 10^9.
Rules followed: “cem” for exactly 100, “cento e…” otherwise; “e” joins the last two parts when the last is under 100 or a round hundred; “de” before euros after million-scale numbers. Always check the result before using it on a legal document.

Not in Portugal: a bilião is a million million (10^12).
