How it works
Type or paste and the numbers update live. A word is a run of letters or digits (with an inner hyphen or apostrophe); characters count whole Unicode letters, so an emoji counts as one.
Reading time assumes 200 words per minute and speaking 130, usual adult figures; they are estimates, not measurements.
